Dudha Kunda, the literal meaning is a milky pond or lake, situated at the 4,555 meter height to the eastern part of Nepal, on the foothills of the mountain Numbur (6,959 m). Dudh Kunda is locally known as Shorong Yul La which means the protector of Solu region, which is a sacred lake. The belief is that if anyone takes a dip in this holy water his or her wishes are fulfilled. This is a amazing view point in order to have stunning views of mountain vistas of some of the world's highest peaks above 8,000 meters, namely Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) and equally you will also have wonderful views of other majestic mountains like Mt. Nuptse (7,855 m), Mt. Amadablam (6,856 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m) , Mt. Thamserku (7,723 m) , Mt. Kantega (6,685 m), Mt. Lingterin (6,679 m), and several other prominent mountains above 6,000 meters. The ultimate goal of this trekking is to reach to the sacred lake Dudh Kunda side and explore this pilgrimage area.

In addition, you will have an opportunity to explore the rituals, culture, lifestyles of of legendary Sherpa living alongside of the trail, and equally explore the Gompa (Buddhist monastery), Mane Chorten, as you pass through the steamy forests which are full of rhododendron flower and pine tree, and sometimes you also spot the wild animals like mountain Thar, snow leopard, tiger and many more. Dudh Kunda trek usually combined with the Pikey Danda (hill-4,065 m) trekking and Numbur Himal trek as well.

Dudha Kunda Trek begins with short flight from Kathmandu to Phaplu and then walk up to Sallery, where you will explore around the Buddhist monastery and continue trekking to Jumbesi, Shengeephuk, Yak kharka, Beni and finally you will reach at Dudh Kunda Lake (4,555 m) and retrace back to Beni, subsequently to Thaksindu, Kemje Danda, Gumne Sherpa village and finally return back to Phaplu and fly back to Kathmandu.
