Khayer Tal trek is one another most popular and excellent trekking destination explored recently. It is located in the western part of Nepal between Annapurna base camp and Jomsom trail. Since it is hidden behind Mt. Annapurna massif, the trek is usually combined with Annapurna base camp and other trekking destinations in the region. The trail takes you to the off the beaten trail, which provides you awesome mountain vista, pass through remote and isolated village resided by various ethnic groups like Gurung, Ghale, Sherpa, Magar to name a few, you will have an opportunity to explore the diverse culture, rituals and customs. You will be able to enjoy the local dishes and delicacies, discover the unique lifestyles of them and no doubt finally you will explore the most sacred mountain lake called Khayer Tal.

You will pass through incredible landscapes and no doubt you will reach to the sacred mountain lakeside called Khayar lake situated at 4,500 m height, visit to Ghorepani, Poon hill, the best view point in Annapurna region, from where you will have superb views of dozens of mountain vista including of Mt. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m) , Mt. Annapurna III (7,555 m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Mt. Annapurna south (7,219 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m),Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7,041 m), Mt. Fishtail also called Machhapuchhare (6,998 m) , Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6,986 m), Tukuche peak (6,921 m), Dampus Peak (6,012 m) and more. During the trek, you will also be able to navigate some of the highest mountains above 8,000 m, explore the deepest Kali Gandaki River gorge, pass through terraced and fertile farming land, lush, steamy and yet undisturbed forest full of flora and fauna, the special feature of this trekking is that you will be amazed with something new scenes and sceneries every single day. These features are explicit enough why Khayar trek is one of the popular trekking destinations in the western Nepal.

Khayer Tal trek begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then the trail continues via Phedi to Tolka, Dhandrung, Tadapani, Dobato, Khopra danda and finally you will reach at Khayar base camp (4620 m), from where you will see the superb Himalayan views from very close and then you will stroll around the sacred Khayar lakeside and then continues south base camp of Annapurna massif. After making an excursion around you will return back down along Swata, and Ghorepani and then you will have a short hike to Poon hill, from where you will have amazing mountain vista and the retrace back to Birethanti, Nayapul and then finally retrace back to Pokhara, subsequently return back to Kathmandu.
