Guerrilla trek is recently developed trips in Nepal. This trekking is designed to help trekkers explore the routes and hideouts used by the former Guerrilla, during the 10-year long (1996 to 2006) Maoist insurgency in Nepal, which took a toll to over 16,000 peoples. The trail winds its way through villages and valleys that saw some of the bloodiest moments in Nepal, especially in the far-western region.

This trekking trail which seldom have seen by the tourists, no doubt is awesome and captivating and a unique route, in order to have breathtaking natural scenery, unique culture, rituals and lifestyles of people living in the far-western region, who have their distinct culture, and lifestyles and their hardship in the arduous environment no doubt is worth exploring and memorable in lifetime.

This trekking best suits to those travelers who are interested to know how the Guerrillas operated and fought during the conflict and how the rural people feel who saw and faced bloodsheds of their own and their kith and kin during the bloodiest moment in Nepal. In addition, as the trek passes through rugged mountains and hills, you will have amazing views of incredible landscapes, snow-capped white peaks, steamy forest, caves, the charming villages, and paddy fields along the route where thousands of Maoist Guerrillas once dug trenches and ambushed the army.

This is the wonderful trekking package for those trekkers who love adventure and who are curious to know about the civil war, as because this trekking gives toutists an insight into the Maoist insurgency, highlights how the Guerrillas operated and fought during the conflict, especially in Rukum and Rolpa, starting from Baglung, The Rukum and Rolpa were the heartland conflict and homeland of many revolutionaries. These two districts--Rukum and Rolpa are also blessed with natural resources and biodiversity. The 60 percent of Dhorpatan reserve is located in Rukum and these have captivating waterfall, caves and delightful lakes, as well as towering Himalayas.

The Guerilla trek can be arranged either the camping or home stay or tea house trekking, as there are a few tea houses available alongside of the trail, though these are not sufficient for tea house trek. The trekking can last up to four weeks stretching across several district of central and western Nepal depending upon the interest and availability of your time.

The trekking starts with a short flight or drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara Beni and then continue trekking to Darbang, Takam, Moreni, Gurjaghat and then enter into Dhorpatan and head on Thankur through the areas where the rebels carried their wounded along the mountain. Subsequently continue to Kayam, Pelma, Maikot, Dimurgaira, Taka, Lukum, Thawang, Suklbang, Jailbang and finally reach at Sulichaur and then you will catch a public bus and retrace back to Kathmandu.
