Gokyo trek winds around the Gokyo valley and Gokyo lakeside, the heart of Mt. Everest. It is one another most popular trekking destination located in the eastern part of Nepal. Gokyo trek is popular because, you will have an opportunity have amazing mountains vistas, as it is located at the heart of Everest, which is also a classic trek in the region.

During the trek, you will pass through incredible mountain pass filled with snow, explore the glacier called Gokyo Lake located at 4,750 m height, and explore the mountain valley called mountain valley and from where you will have amazing mountain vistas including of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,855 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), Mt. Changaste (7,550 m), Mt. Lingterin (6,679 m), Mt. Amadablam (6,856 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,723 m), Mt. Sherpa are well-known and well admired for their valor of living in the high altitude areas. Gokyo trek is perhaps the most amazing and also the alternative route to the Everest trek. You will have amazing range of mountain sceneries from Gokyo, as you can spot from the Everest trek, which lies to the east of the Everest base camp. But, Gokyo trek is usually combined with Everest base camp and other trekking destinations in the Everest region. The trek winds around the high altitude areas, as you reach almost close the Everest base camp.

Gokyo trek begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and then the trail follows along the bank of Dudh koshi River, then you will reach at Namche and have rest for acclimatization, where you can explore the beautiful Sherpa village and then you continue trekking it reaches to Gokyo valley and make excursion to the Gokyo Lake area from where you will have wonderful mountain vista and finally after exploring all around, you will retrace back through same route to Lukla and subsequently to Kathmandu.
