Monastery Trek is also known as Lower Solukhumbu Eco trail, the name itself is self explanatory that you will have trekking to the lower part in the Everest region primarily have trekking to the impressive Buddhist monasteries namely in Thupten Chholing Monastery located at the foothills of Mt. Everest. This huge monastery was founded in 1960, currently houses over 700 resident monks and nuns. Similarly, you will have trekking to Tyangboche monastery in Tyengboche village in Khumjung in the Khumbu region. This monastery is situated at 3,867 m height, which is the largest and the oldest Buddhist monastery in Nepal, which was built in 1916. These monasteries are located amidst the Sagarmatha National Park (UNESCO world heritage sites of outstanding universal value) and drapped with a panoramic view of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,855 m), Mt. Amadablam (6,856 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m) , Mt. Thamserku (7,723 m) among others.

Besides, you will have amazing sunrise and sunset views with the backdrop of these majestic mountains and explore the diverse flora and fauna including a number of endanger animals, birds that are strolling around in the Park and steamy forest you trek through. Similarly, you also have an opportunity to explore the rituals, culture, lifestyles of of legendary Sherpa, and you also will explore Buddhist monastery, Mani, Chorten and have amazing views of mountain vistas from distance, take snaps of stunning landscapes, pass through high mountain pass, glaciers and many other options.

Monastery Trek is begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lamidanda and continue trekking through Kharpa, Harishe, Kurima,Cherem and Junbesi valley, which is predominantly inhabited by Sherpa indigenous peoples and then have a short hike to visit the impressive Thupten Chholing monastery, and continue trekking through Sherpa villages and Trek ends at Phaplu .
